     These three words aptly describe Nickolas DeJarnette. On their face, they're three adjectives but, to Nick, they're the keys to his success.

​

     Zig Ziglar famously said, "It's not where you start but where you finish that counts..." There is perhaps no better quotation that so perfectly exemplifies the life and example that is Nickolas DeJarnette. Boston University educated, son of Massachusetts, serial entrepreneur, author and speaker, Nickolas DeJarnette's journey to the top was anything but ordinary. You could say he took the scenic route and still made it to his destination right on time. From his earliest remembering, Nick's life played out like a cautionary tale rather than the preamble to an eventual success story.

     Born to alcoholic, drug-addicted parents, both parents convicted felons, Nick's formative years were the stuff of nightmares. Abuse, homelessness, Foster Homes & Social Services, Juvenile Correctional Facilities, Shoot-outs, prostitution, murder, and prison. It was as if Nick hit the "doomed to failure" trifecta. With mom, dad, aunts, uncles, and both brothers as his primary influences, it wasn't long before Nick joined the family business and followed an example that had only one of two outcomes; prison or the mortuary.

     Nick chose door Number One. With Every Appeal-Lost and, Every Motion-Denied. Nick's future was grim. At 22, Nick had been tried, convicted, and jailed for a laundry list of felonies. Awaiting him was a 15-17 year prison sentence with 15 of those years being the minimum mandatory he would serve. There in that jail cell, Nick had a genuine "come to Jesus" moment. "Enough was enough" and, Nick chose that fateful day to commit his life to one of faith, fellowship, and care for his fellow man.

     For Eight years, Nick witnessed the reality of prison life, and true to his word, he became a force for peace amidst the chaos inside the prison walls, even if that meant putting his life in danger, which it did. Nick's newfound faithfulness and commitment to bettering the world around him found its reward in a Supreme Court's ruling that changed Nick's sentence and supported his release in the eighth year of a 15 year imprisonment.

​

Since then, Nick has stayed true to his word and founded 5 successful businesses. And that's just the start. He's since built and positioned two more companies that are expected to exceed his current successes while continuing to be a beacon of help and hope for his community.

​

     With 15 years of uplifting, corrective, and encouraging messages, Nick continues to use his voice and experience to make a difference. Successful businessman, Job creator, employer, husband, father, brother, son, and role model, Nickolas DeJarnette is a sterling example of focused and deliberate choice. You can't pick your family or upbringing, but you can choose the path you follow. The choice was always Nick's to make. Ultimately, Nick chose the better hand and has been winning ever since.
